This natural preserve was established by junction of the former SPR Devin, Souteska and Kotelna. It is the highest and the most significant reservation CHKO (protected area) Palava. That’s why entry and walks are allowed only along signed paths and the educational trail. The peaks of Devin and Kotelna are separated by the deep saddle Souteska. The west part of Kotelna is created from the rock Martinka with a big fissure and wedged boulder called Velky spunt. This make a false rock bridge. The rocks of these slopes treat precious mountain vegetation, like stone-break etc. Above all a beautiful karst’s wood-steppe grew up on Devin’s slope with small islands of oak grove, wild cornel and with turf and rock steppes. On the peak of Obora there is the biggest population of irises. In the reservation there is many breeds of spineless and vertebratea. In rock cracks there is a bat colony. The breeding of fair game was finished in 1996.
